How many "return" phone calls is too many?

I interviewed last week for a job, last Sunday (5/22/11) I got a phone call from the director of operations, the boss of the lady I interviewed with (I missed the call) and he left a voicemail stating he heard the interview went really well and he wanted to set up a time to talk with me. I called him back a few minutes later, got his vmail and left a msg, by Monday (5/23) late afternoon I had not heard from him, so I called again and again reached his vmail and left a second msg......today is Tuesday (5/24) and still have not heard back- I really want/need this job but I don't want to be a nuisance, so should I call again (at any point)?
