Starting up an eBay account at 16?

I just turned 16 and I've had a debit card for about a year now and I'm thinking of starting up an account to sell a bunch of my coins and collectibles and junk that I brought over from my dad's house. My dad has an account, but since I live with my mom now, I'm thinking of making an account for my own. Should I make an account and lie about my age, saying that I'm at least 18? Or should I just ask if I can borrow my dad's account? Also, how does shipping work? Can anyone with some eBay experience help me out here? Thanks!
