My landlord is selling after i just moved in?

I just began renting a house just 2 months ago, now the landlord has said hes selling up. ive barely just settled in, what are my rights? we didnt have a fixed tenacy term for me to rent the house for any set period. i just know i signed the usual contract for i think its just so that the rent dosent increase during that term, but i dont recall anything about fixed tenacy, hes a private landlord so i guess its just whenever, whoever wanted to end it, but is there no law that protects me for a minimum fixed period of time, because ive caused no nuisance or damage, he just wanted to sell after me living here two months. I thought i read if theres no fixed term i have six months initially, is this correct, can anyone offer any advicd
